However, they were reconstructed and summarized by Guru Ved Vyas so that at present, there are 24,000 verses that are included in Six Sanhitas (sections). The name of the 6 sections in Shiv Puran are Janma Sanhita, Vidyeshvara Sanhita, Kailasha Sanhita, Sanatkumar Sanhita, Vayaviya Sanhita and Dharm Sanhita. Each of these sections is divided into chapters (Adhyay) which contains a total of 24,000 slokas (verses).
